Opened my mail yesterday and to my surprise, found a free copy of Donald Miller's new book A Million Miles in a Thousand Years. I don't read self help books, because they are mostly things we already know we need to improve or change. Books like this however, give us concrete stuff we should actually be thinking about. The kicker: I won it. Chris Brogan, a marketing and social media guru, recent wrote a blog post about the book and the importance of story in our lives. He then asked for his readers to submit our thoughts on story in our lives.
I keep my blog as a journal more than something to share, but this time I'm proud to say my thoughts were recognized. I HIGHLY recommend this book. Chris Brogan says it best, "The book is about story, but it’s not exactly a book about writing. It’s about seeing your life like a story. It’s about living a better story. It’s about learning how to be present and interact in your life’s story. Quite simply: it’s the type of book that can help you change your life, if you’re willing to do the work."
